Well – we have been up and running as The Boomin Granny since October 1. We have made new friends, treasury’s, sale’s of items we didn’t know that anybody would actually like, and many other things that have brought us to this milestone today.

The milestone being that we had our name in lights along side some of our selling peers on Etsy’s front page! The treasury listing was created by “pinkshirtsandcarwrecks“, which I must say has some very cool items that remind of us of The Boomin Granny’s tastes.

 

The Etsy front page is updated every hour and rarely without delay, so our time on the front page, although it only 60 mins, was  a huge success for us and something we are proud of. I will say that it is our 1st appearance and that we intend on many more over the next several months or even years.

 

OTHER MILESTONES

Just recently we were also included in a milestone of one our new friends on Etsy, Thrifty Finds and Redesigns, on reaching 50 followers on their blog.

We were happy in giving away to one the lucky followers one of our glass cloche’s.

March of Dimes

The Boomin Granny is  continuing work with March of Dimes by Sponsoring

Team Cinco!

Our Story:

A little over two years ago our family was surprised to have The Boomin Granny’s grandson, “V” arrive 15 weeks early. Coming in at only 2lb 2oz, there were many obstacles right out of the gate, obviously. Several months of careful watching, waiting, and growing were ahead. There were bouts with jaundice, bradycardia, lung discrepancies and so on… the list is extensive.

We can tell  you that with our time in the NICU we learned that many of the technologies and medicines being used on V were those that got their start from financial support from March of Dimes. Most likely the most notable would be their promotion and work around surfactant therapy which is crucial for preemie and micro preemies with respiratory distress. V was no exception to this and was extremely lucky to have this type of therapy available to him. Within 2 weeks of his arrival his ability to breath declined to the point of having to be attached to an oscillating vent that would breath for him 24 hours a day. The surfactant therapy, among others played a major role in his recovery and ability make it through his NICU stay and eventually come home to our family.

He is now a happy, healthy, and smart 2 year old boy. He is right on track and extremely fortunate to be where he is today. It is safe to say that with this organizations work to generate revenues and drive research for families and children like ours, many have been saved, and many more can be.

Team Cinco for March of Dimes

We decided to go ahead and start releasing some Team Cinco Merchandise to our friends, family, & customers. The merchandise being sold is designed to be in recognition of the work that is going into the March of Dimes while helping promote our new brand, The Boomin Granny.

Team Cinco is the team we sponsor, but it is the March of Dimes organization and their work that we strive to help move forward and promote. That is because we have seen their work first hand. We are now exceeding our 5% of every sale being donated to March of Dimes and would like to provide even more of the green machine to them. So, to do that we going to launch our TBG and Team Cinco merch line.

We are excited to let you know that 100% of the profits made will be donated directly to the March of Dimes organization.

Glass Decor

The Boomin Granny has begun her tidbit creations! Over the last few weeks she has been doing her homework around what it takes to make multilevel, specifically 3 tier, tidbit trays from glass or porcelain plates.

Turns out, TBG knows how to work a drill….

Just having been posted over the last couple of days folks are starting to take notice of these 3 tier Boomin works. They are priced at a modest $70, are handmade by The Boomin Granny herself, and are made of the finest/vintage plates, saucers, cups, and materials she can find.

TBG intends on breaking out the big drill and posting up as many as 10 new tidbits over the next couple of weeks!!

HAPPY RETRO THANKSGIVING

Likely TGB’s favorite treasury to be apart of yet!

This is our 3rd one to be apart of since our creation just 2 short months ago. The curator of the treasury, VINTAGEHAND specializes in things like pottery, jewelry, quilts, vintage, and original handmade items. A LOT of the same concepts that The Boomin Granny likes to work with.

The colors of brown, yellow, with subtle hints of green thrown in represent a time period all but gone. The style and spirit of the 1960′s, 1970′s and early 80′s lives on in items like the ones posted here and is exactly the source of passion for The Boomin Granny.
